Explore Breathless Resorts & Spas →What “all-inclusive” actually covers
At all three brands the rate carries your room, every restaurant on the property, the bars, room service, tips and most non-motorised water sports. What sits outside it is usually the same list everywhere: airfare, transfers unless they are bundled, spa treatments, off-property excursions, the premium spirits above the house tier, and cabana or private-dining upgrades.
The useful thing to know is that the gap between the three brands is smaller than the gap between two properties inside the same brand. A Secrets in Mexico and a Secrets in Spain are different holidays. Which resort you pick matters considerably more than which logo is above the door — which is the part a brochure will not tell you.
Choosing between the three
- Sandals — Luxury Included®, Caribbean. The most couples-oriented of the three, and 18+ at every property with no exceptions. Worth correcting the common myth: adults-only is not the same as couples-only. Sandals is couples-first by design, but two friends can share a room and groups of couples travel together regularly.
- Secrets — Unlimited-Luxury®, widest geography. Adults-only across the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and Spain. The calmest and most varied of the three, and the easiest to match to a specific kind of week.
- Breathless — Unlimited-Luxury®, social. The same standard turned outward: pool scene, DJs, a younger and higher-energy crowd. Excellent if that is the trip you want and wrong if it is not.

Common questions
Are Sandals resorts couples only?
No — that is the most common misconception about the brand. Sandals is adults-only, 18 and over at every property with no exceptions, and it is couples-first by design: king beds, two-person dining, an atmosphere built around pairs. But it does not require you to be a romantic couple. Two friends can share a room, groups of couples travel together, and adult family members book side by side.
What does all-inclusive actually cover?
At these three brands: your room, every restaurant on the property, bars and drinks, room service, tips, and most non-motorised water sports and activities. What generally sits outside it is airfare, transfers unless bundled, spa treatments, off-property excursions, premium wine and spirits above the house tier, and cabana or private-dining upgrades. The gap between brands is smaller than the gap between properties, which is why the specific resort matters more than the logo.
How do Sandals, Secrets and Breathless differ?
Sandals is Luxury Included®, Caribbean-only, and the most couples-oriented of the three. Secrets is Unlimited-Luxury® and adults-only with the widest geography — the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and Spain — and reads calmer and more varied. Breathless is the same Unlimited-Luxury® standard turned social: pool scene, DJs, a younger and higher-energy crowd. Pick on atmosphere first, then location.
Does booking through a travel advisor cost more?
No. You pay the same rate as booking direct. Where a property sits in a preferred programme it can carry extras that do not appear on public rates — a resort credit, breakfast, or a room-category upgrade at check-in where the hotel can offer one — and you have someone to escalate to if something is wrong on arrival.
Properties, pricing, and availability are owned and operated by each respective brand. Off The Grid Getaways is your independent travel advisor — reach out for personalized recommendations and booking assistance.
