How does an Abercrombie & Kent journey work?
A&K has designed luxury travel since 1962. Whether you join a Small Group Journey or travel privately, your trip is planned end to end and run on the ground by A&K's own local teams — expert guides, hand-picked hotels and camps, and around-the-clock support while you travel. You get an advocate, not a call center.
How big are the small groups?
Small Group Journeys average about 14 guests and are typically capped around 16–18, led by a Resident Tour Director who has lived for years in the country you're visiting. Group size varies by itinerary, and a few family departures run a little larger.
What's included in the price?
A&K journeys are inclusively priced — upscale hotels and safari camps, in-country flights and transfers, most activities and many meals, luggage handling between hotels, and special access (skip-the-line entry, private openings) with expert local guides. International airfare to and from the destination is usually separate. I'll confirm exactly what's covered on the journey you choose.
What's the difference between Small-Group, Private & Tailor-Made, and Private Jet?
Small-Group is a set itinerary with a small group and a Resident Tour Director. Private & Tailor-Made is your own guide, vehicle and dates — either a ready-to-book private itinerary or one designed from scratch around you. Private Jet is A&K's flagship expeditions by private aircraft, reaching remote places without the airports.
Can I travel solo? Is there a single supplement?
Yes — solo travelers are welcome on every journey. A single supplement applies for your own room, and A&K occasionally waives or reduces it on select safaris and tailor-made departures in shoulder season. Tell me your dates and I'll find the best solo value.
