Royal Caribbean has not confirmed any Super Bowl LXI viewing party, broadcast schedule, or onboard activity for these sailings. All viewing arrangements, venues and programming are subject to Royal Caribbean confirmation. Verify with Royal Caribbean before booking.
Super Bowl LXI kicks off at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Sunday 14 February 2027. If game day matters, the itinerary question is simple: are you already aboard that evening? Eight Royal Caribbean sailings are — three Icon class, five Oasis class. Every one below was checked against our own Royal Caribbean data on September 11, 2026, and the list is complete: no other Icon- or Oasis-class hull is at sea that night.
Two things about that Sunday
It is Valentine's Day. Not a footnote on a ship. Kickoff and the specialty-restaurant window land on top of each other, on the one night of the week when the dining rooms are fully committed. If you are traveling as a couple and only one of you cares about the game, book the restaurant and ask about the viewing venue in the same conversation — not in two conversations a month apart.
The broadcast has moved. Super Bowl LXI airs on ABC and ESPN — the first ABC Super Bowl since 2006 and the first ever on ESPN. Every previous year the "will the ship have the channel" question answered itself, because the game was on CBS, Fox or NBC. This year it is a real question, and it is the first one to put to Royal Caribbean.

We have not put fares in this piece, deliberately. A rate printed in an article is stale by the time you read it, and it tells you nothing about the one thing that actually decides the booking — whether the cabin category you want is still open on the sailing you want. Those two move daily and independently.
So ask. We will check current pricing, cabin availability and whatever promotion is running on any of the eight — including the Hero Discount of up to 15% for military, veterans and first responders on eligible sailings, and group or solo terms if either applies. Ask about a sailing →
Icon class
Three Icon-class hulls are out that night: Icon of the Seas from Miami on a seven-night Eastern Caribbean and Perfect Day run, with game day falling mid-cruise and the longest settled-in window of the group; Star of the Seas from Port Canaveral, sailing on game day itself; and Legend of the Seas from Fort Lauderdale on six nights, the newest hull in the comparison and the same board-and-watch shape as Star.
On Legend the port list is the one thing we will not print. Our scrape carries the voyage as Caribbean & Perfect Day but no confirmed call list, and published sources disagree. Ask Royal Caribbean rather than trust a routing you read anywhere, including here.
For completeness, the fourth Icon-class ship, Hero of the Seas, debuts from Miami in August 2027 — after the game, which is why it is not in this list.
Oasis class
Five Oasis-class ships are aboard: Symphony from Galveston on seven nights, Harmony from Port Canaveral on five across the Presidents Day weekend, and three-night Bahamas runs on Oasis from Fort Lauderdale, Wonder from Miami and Utopia from Port Canaveral.
Watch the three-night sailings. On Oasis and Utopia, game day is the Perfect Day at CocoCay call; on Wonder it is Nassau. A port day is not a problem by itself, but it makes the all-aboard time part of your viewing plan. Ask what time you must be back on the ship, and whether the venue you want takes reservations.
What to verify before you pay
- Will this exact sailing show the game live, with sound, in a dedicated venue? Not "do ships usually" — this sailing.
- Where? Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade is the usual venue on many ships, and has not been confirmed for any of these.
- What happens if a port call overlaps kickoff? All-aboard time, tender queue if there is one, and how long the walk back actually is.
- Reservations, and whether food and drink packages apply in the viewing venue.
- Time zones — ship's time is not always local time, and kickoff is on Pacific time.
- Is viewing included in the fare, or extra?
- Accessibility of the venue — seating, sightlines, step-free route and the nearest accessible restroom. Our accessible travel standard applies here: ask the specific question, treat a general reassurance as a no.
- Valentine's dining, booked in the same conversation as the viewing plan.
Why do this at all
Nobody hosts. Nobody cleans up. You unpack once and Sunday finds you already where you want to be. Adults and children both get a holiday out of it, and a group can share dining and time together without anyone running the logistics of a land-based trip. If you are traveling alone, ask about single-occupancy terms on each of these specifically — they vary more between sailings than people expect, and the solo fare mechanics apply here as everywhere.
Frequently asked
When and where is Super Bowl LXI?
Sunday 14 February 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. It is the ninth Super Bowl in the Los Angeles area and SoFi’s second, after Super Bowl LVI in 2022.
Which Royal Caribbean ships are at sea on Super Bowl Sunday 2027?
Eight Icon- and Oasis-class sailings are aboard on the evening of 14 February 2027: Icon, Star and Legend of the Seas from the Icon class, and Oasis, Wonder, Harmony, Symphony and Utopia of the Seas from the Oasis class. Four further sailings span the date but disembark that morning, so they are not on this list.
Will the ship show the Super Bowl?
Royal Caribbean has not confirmed any Super Bowl LXI viewing party, broadcast schedule or onboard programming for these sailings. Ships have historically shown the game, usually in the sports bar, but historical practice is not a booking guarantee. Ask for it in writing before you pay.
Does the 2027 broadcast change anything on board?
Possibly, and it is worth asking about specifically. Super Bowl LXI airs on ABC and ESPN — the first ABC Super Bowl since 2006 and the first ever on ESPN. In previous years the feed came from CBS, Fox or NBC, so the channel question answered itself. This year it does not.
Is 14 February 2027 also Valentine’s Day?
Yes, and on a cruise that is a genuine conflict rather than a coincidence. Kickoff and the specialty-dining window overlap on the one night of the week when restaurants are fully committed. If you are traveling as a couple with different interests in the game, book the restaurant and ask about the viewing venue in the same conversation.
What do these sailings cost?
We do not publish fares for these, because a rate quoted in an article is out of date by the time you read it and tells you nothing about what is actually available in the cabin category you want. Ask us and we will check current pricing, cabin availability and any promotion running on the sailing you are looking at, subject to supplier confirmation.
Which of the eight should I choose?
Start with where game day falls. Mid-cruise on Icon means you are settled long before kickoff. Sail day on Star, Legend or Symphony means you board and watch the same evening. A port day on Oasis, Utopia or Wonder means the all-aboard time becomes part of your viewing plan. After that it is homeport, length and what else you want from the week.
