Norwegian Bella opened for booking on October 20, 2026, and the first sailing is in May 2028. Norwegian Cruise Line published no fares in its launch release, so the only honest comparison today is the one you build yourself.
Sources and facts checked: October 25, 2026 (America/New_York). Fares, Studio availability, deposit terms, service charges and itineraries change by sailing and date. Check and verify with the cruise line or vendor before you pay.
Holding a cabin for that long on a ship that has not sailed is a real commitment. Early booking buys choice. It does not buy information, and the information is what a solo traveler needs most.
The short answer
Norwegian Bella opened for sale on October 20, 2026, with seven-night round-trip Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona starting in May 2028. Norwegian Cruise Line lists Studios for solo travelers but published no fares in its launch release. Compare a Studio with a standard cabin priced for one guest before you decide.
Bookings opened October 20, 2026
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings issued the Norwegian Bella sale announcement on October 20, 2026, in its release Norwegian Cruise Line opens for sale Norwegian Bella. Cruise Industry News reported the same facts the same day in Norwegian Bella to debut in Europe with new onboard features.
The release lists no prices. Neither does NCL's own ship page. That is the headline for a solo traveler.
Seven nights from Barcelona only
The first season is seven-day round-trip voyages from Barcelona, Spain, beginning in May 2028. The release names Rome, Florence and Salerno in Italy, Marseille in France, and Palma de Mallorca in Spain. NCL's complete guide to Norwegian Bella also names Livorno among the ports on these itineraries.
A city name on a brochure is not always the port the ship docks at. Check the call list for your exact sailing and ask NCL which port serves Rome and Florence before you book a day tour.
The last Prima Class ship
NCL calls Norwegian Bella the sixth and final ship in its Prima Class. The release gives her size as about 1,129 feet and 170,000 gross tons, with 3,921 guests at double occupancy. It says nearly 2,000 staterooms.
Norwegian Aura comes first, due for delivery in May 2027. Fincantieri is building both ships, according to the release.
What is Ocean Heights?
Ocean Heights is a multi-level, open-air complex on decks 18 through 21. The guide lists Eclipse Racers, the Bella Free Fall waterslide, The Wave, The Drop, a ropes course, a mini golf course and Moon Climber.
NCL says Bella's pool deck is more than 15% larger than the pool decks on Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna. Those are launch claims. Nobody has queued for a slide on this ship yet.
Do Studios solve the solo problem?
Maybe. NCL's Bella guide describes Studios as a private bedroom and bathroom attached to a suite that only solo travelers can access.
The release does not give a Studio count. It gives no Studio price. A Studio is priced for one guest, so compare its total with the cheapest other cabin priced for one guest on the same sailing. Our solo cabin guide walks through that comparison.
How to build the one-person total
Start with the fare NCL shows for one guest. Then add taxes and fees, flights, a Barcelona hotel night, transfers and any paid extras you expect to use. Write down the date, cabin, guest count and what the fare includes.
Verify NCL's current service-charge terms for your sailing. The NCL pricing and solo value guide shows how a headline fare drifts from a final cost.
This article states no Bella fare because no public source states one. NCL's fares are dynamic and vary by sailing, cabin and date. A number copied from a booking page today would be out of date by the time you read it.
Run the search yourself on NCL's site, for the specific sailing and one guest. Screenshot it. That screenshot is your baseline for every later price check.
Vibe Beach Club needs a pass
Vibe Beach Club is NCL's adults-only outdoor area. NCL's guide says you purchase a pass to enter. The guide does not list the price of a pass, so this article does not either.
The Haven by Norwegian is a separate suite complex with 159 suites, private elevators, an infinity pool, two hot tubs, an outdoor sauna and a dining room, according to NCL. The Haven itself is not adults-only. Keep both outside your base budget until NCL publishes terms for your sailing.
Family features worth knowing
Bella is not an adults-only ship. The release describes children's spaces, including Little Explorers' Cay, a playhouse and slides for ages two to six, and says balcony staterooms accommodate up to four guests. It adds that select connecting rooms are planned.
If you travel solo and want quiet, sailing in May may still mean children aboard. Ask NCL about quiet spaces and adult-oriented areas, not only the family attractions.
Should you book now or wait?
Cabin choice and price information pull in opposite directions. On a ship this far from sailing, you cannot have both.
Deposit and cancellation terms affect the risk, so read NCL's before you pay. Our solo supplement playbook covers how to judge a fare once it appears.
What to skip: launch-day certainty
Skip any article, this one included, that tells you what Bella will feel like. The ship has not sailed. Crowding, queue length and noise cannot be reported yet.
Skip rate predictions too. No source has published how Bella will be priced, and nobody can tell you where the first-season fares will land.
Devil's advocate: early booking can be the smart move
The case for booking now is simple. If you want a particular Studio, a connecting pair, or a cabin near an elevator, earlier booking widens your options.
The case against is also straightforward: you commit to a ship nobody has reviewed, at a fare you cannot compare. Neither answer is right for everyone. Decide which risk costs you more, fewer choices or less information.
The OTGG bottom line
Look for a fare, not for a review. Once NCL shows a one-guest total for your sailing, compare the Studio against the cheapest other cabin priced for one. Read NCL's deposit and cancellation terms before you pay, since they affect which option carries less risk.
